This is a remake of "The Blind Alley," 1939, when Chester Morris played the part of the head villain as William Holden did here. I like Holden, but I think he over acted. I realize he was expected to, as a psychotic, but it was too much. Morris did it better, but that's only my opinion. A small viewer alert: here there is a different ending. I'll not say more. I enjoyed the post Kristine - thanks a lot!
